Questions You Might Have Before Applying

We know taking the next step in your career is a big move, so here are some answers that can help you picture what it is like to join Economy Glass.

Where will I be working?

Most projects are based around Melbourne’s western suburbs, especially in areas such as Hoppers Crossing and Werribee. We focus on residential installations and keep travel local.

What kind of glass projects will I work on?

You will work on a variety of premium residential jobs, including frameless showers, mirrors, splashbacks and wardrobes. There are also opportunities to work on more specialised installations like balustrades and shopfronts.

Do I need to bring my own tools?

No. We provide modern tools and equipment to make your work easier. Tool allowances are also part of your package.

What are the standard working hours?

Our glaziers generally work Monday to Friday during normal daytime hours. Start and finish times can vary depending on the project, and there may be paid overtime when required. Weekends are rare and usually only if a job needs to be completed by a specific deadline.

How does Economy Glass support staff on-site?

We know glazing is physically demanding, so we invest in equipment and processes that reduce strain. Our supervisors are hands-on and our team culture is about helping each other out, not just getting the job done.

How does Economy Glass support health and safety on-site?

We follow strict safety protocols for handling and installing glass. This includes manual handling training, protective equipment, and team procedures designed to reduce physical strain. Safety is built into every stage of a project.

What opportunities for training are available?

All new team members go through structured onboarding and hands-on training. Over time, you can upskill into design, project management or leadership roles. We want to see our people grow with us.

How does pay work?

We offer above-award wages, paid overtime, performance bonuses and regular team events. We want this role to be both financially rewarding and enjoyable.

Is this a stable, long-term role?

Yes. Economy Glass has been serving the western suburbs for more than 45 years and continues to grow steadily. We are looking for glaziers who want a long-term future with us.

How soon could I start if successful?

We aim to move quickly once the right applicant is found. Typically, the process from application to first day takes between one and three weeks, depending on notice periods and availability.

We LOOK FORWARD to meetING you.
